The Grid T.O's Burger Day

Artscape Wychwood Barns
601 Christie Street
Toronto, ON

Last week was burger week and Toronto's 20 top meat-meisters offered up an additional $5 burger to their regular menu. On June 3rd carnivores and burger connoisseurs came together at Artscape Wychwood Barns for a day of delicious sliders and beer! $3 sliders, $5 beer, $2 juice & water and free snow cones.

Burger day started at 11:30 and ended at 4:30, luckily we got there around 1pm and the line ups weren't too bad. We all kind of ventured off in small groups to check out what the different stalls had to offer. I got 3 sliders and that was plenty for me, some of my friends got 5 and they were suffering from food coma by the end of it. The rain held out until the end of burger day and luckily we were done eating  and most of the restaurants were sold out of burgers when it did rain.

This is one of the sliders Satya got and it was so juicy, it was one of his favourites of the day!

You had to get every element in one bite to get the full experience and taste of the burger and when you did it was absolutely fantastic.

Another of Satya's burger from BQM, his favourite of the day.

My favourite burger that I tried was hands down the Crab Slider that Habits Gastropub offered.  A tiny cremini mushroom cap stuffed with crab meat then covered in tempera batter and deep fried. Seriously one of the best sliders and  crab cakes I've ever had. They put it over the top with a corn salsa
Thank you @HabitsGastropub for such a good burger!

This is the Caplansky's Delicatessen's burger with smoked meat, I could eat pounds and pounds of their smoked meat!

A glimpse of Burger Day.

One thing I noticed is that a lot of the restaurants didn't grill their buns, I feel like it just makes the burger complete...but that's just my little personal rant. All-in-all I had a great time!

Burger day was a hit and I look forward to next years! See you all there!
